A Purple Tomato? (ほんとうにトマトが紫。。。?)

                 Vocabulary: tomato-tomato ("a" as in abakada);トマト, kamatis; purple-murasaki, むらさき、紫, kulay-ube

Researchers have developed antioxidant rich purple tomatoes.  An antioxidant rich purple colored tomato, that contains high levels of anthocyanins, has been bred by researchers in the USA.

The tomatoes were bred using traditional breeding techniques and not by genetic engineering.  If these click in the market, then our image of tomatoes have to change.  When children color drawings of tomatoes, it is usually red, although there are yellow and orange tomatoes, too.  But soon, they maybe using their purple crayons, too.  I would love to see this combination of red and purple in my salad. It would be a bonus when all different colored tomatoes are put on top of a salad.
